Description:

The application provides real-time elevation data sourced from the GPS receiver of iOS devices, utilizing an integrated geoid model for enhanced accuracy.

An additional feature includes access to the USGS Elevation Web Service, which offers comprehensive elevation data for the United States. Users will find that with a clear view of the sky, the elevations calculated by Elevation For Real quickly align with the USGS values after a brief period. For users outside the U.S. or those using devices set to non-U.S. regions, as well as in scenarios where the USGS elevation service is unavailable, elevation data obtained from the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) is utilized, applicable between latitudes of 60°N and 56°S.
